Hanbury Preservation Consulting worked with an interdisciplinary team lead by Point HDC to develop a plan for the future of the former P.S. 103. Under the auspices of the Baltimore National Heritage Area and working with an appointed task force, the team collected oral histories to develop a historical study, proposed an interpretive plan, and completed a historic structure report (HSR).
Hanbury Preservation Consulting created a management, financing and phasing plan for the HSR. A product of extensive stakeholder interviews and guided by the core principals established by the steering committee, the plan evolved from a broad policy document to a focused strategy that resulted in identifying specific partners for the project’s development. The plan included a due diligence checklist for prospective owner/occupants and an extensive compilation of applicable financial tools and incentives. Hanbury Preservation Consulting also provided research on the building’s history and a written narrative documenting its appearance and condition. Working closely with architects and interpretive planners, Hanbury Preservation Consulting devised a potential phasing plan for redevelopment dividing specific aspects into discreet components for funding and programming considerations.
