In 2020, Hanbury Preservation Consulting completed a Revolving Fund Feasibility Study for Historic Atlanta. A relative newcomer in Georgia's capital city, Historic Atlanta is an all-volunteer organization with strong participation by preservation professionals. It has devoted significant attention to African American and LGBTQ resources. The feasibility study helped the organization define the focus of a revolving fund which would preserve historic buildings to promote community resiliency for greater Atlanta. The fund would operate in a strong real estate market that presents inherent challenges to historic preservation. The process also defined parameters for project selection. Finally the study defined a series of short-term action steps to build a solid organizational infrastructure to support a revolving fund.
