Preservation Kentucky was formed in 1998 to support the sustainability of historic buildings, rural landscapes and prehistoric sites through advocacy and education.
In 2012 Hanbury Preservation Consulting worked with the staff and board to develop a strategic plan. The process involved an organizational analysis combined with public input through surveys and stakeholder interviews. Background data served as a platform for the board retreat that examined the organization's mission and set benchmark goals, including strengthening outreach through local networks, developing tools and strategies designed for specific constituencies, and increasing capacity through new revenue opportunities.
