Hanbury Preservation Consulting was established in 2008 to provide a full spectrum of preservation related planning services to organizations, governments, individuals and corporate clients. The firm specializes in historic preservation planning, heritage tourism planning, and strategic planning for preservation organizations.
The firm’s methodology involves research, community input and independent assessment to create consensus based and organizationally driven plans with clear implementation strategies.
Founding principal Mary Ruffin Hanbury has over 20 years of experience in a broad range of historic preservation and non profit organizations. She has worked for the Virginia and North Carolina State Historic Preservation Offices and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. As such she brings a visionary perspective and the capacity to work with a variety of clientele with sensitivity to their needs and constraints.
Hanbury Preservation Consulting is a North Carolina certified Historically Underutilized Business (NC HUB) through the Statewide Uniform Certification (SWUC) Program, a Small Disadvantaged Business for subcontracting purposes and a Woman-Owned Business.
