Historic Preservation Plans can be prepared for single buildings, campuses, entire municipalities or even larger regions. In the case of cities and regions, these plans need to include public participation and stakeholder engagement to build the constituency needed for implementation. The vision for a preservation plan needs to acknowledge the realities of funding and organizational capacity, yet still create ambitious goals to challenge those charged with executing it, to protect the resources involved and to inspire continued support and stewardship in the larger population.
